The anonymity can definitely be frustrating as the recipient. Part of me wishes that it was a game where you tried to connect the comment with the friend, and got the key at the end. I have a theory for who posted all my comments, except for one I'm totally stumped by, but I'm never sure how much is wishful thinking.
The anonymity is liberating in leaving comments, though, because even if the other person is bound to guess who you are, there's a sort of plausible deniability, so it's easier to gush than it might be in name space.
ETA: It's funny you tried to gloss over things that would make you identifiable, because the comment I think is you is the one I'm most confident of. But maybe I'm totally off.
