I liked Eileen, but felt she lacked some characterization as well. Yay for solid representation and for her not A) turning out to be the villain or B) dying by the end of the ep. :P
Thank you - yes - we need better than this, come on writers!
Yay for enjoying Mildred!!1 Yes! I am sure they didn't mean to make her creepy - just that imo it came very very close to that line, possibly crossed it.... I agree that they eant well - just.... just.... imagine if a woman from a different disempowered group were hitting on Dean, coming on so strong (which in TV is often coding for failed womanhood, pathetic, blah) - and Dean saying something like 'who knows, I might actually go for this", like it's so out there - and - I mnean - why couldn't Dean just be directly interested? why couldn't they have a kiss, a love scene?
I agree - I am liking the season a lot so far too! And YES! I am curious!!!!!!!!!!1 So much fic fodder! And also - so fun to actually be interested in the story arc !
~I want Jane Espenson to write for Show! !~
The sex ed scene confuses me a lot - it's ok if you'd rather not read this, or just want to tell me how it worked for you possibly because my upbringing was so so different from this (my mother was pressuring me to have sex ffs) - but f for me it very much did not work.... I didn't feel the boys were exactly uncomfortable, more critical, and that I just hated.... and I just didn't feel the flow of the scene.... but really I mostly hate hate scenes where the boys are framed as this hegemonic normal thing that is presented as in the right - hate it hate it!
