LOL! I think the average population of LJ is old enough that a number of people just reached a point in their lives where they were worried about their online stuff affecting their careers and decided to send it down the memory hole. That's why I'm fairly careful not to cross the streams.
Have you tried looking on spnstoryfinders? They keep an inventory of where you can find the fic of authors who've deleted their journals.
