This is the most wonderful little thing--and I agree with elwarre about the line about blipping out without anyone noticing (including himself). The way that moment shifts into the phone call with Sam, and its quiet affirmation that there are people who would, indeed, notice, is so gorgeous. The feeling that comes to mind is, yet again, EMOTIONAL RIMMING. (Do you remember that phrase? XD Because I'd definitely forgotten about it until reading this!)
