I mean, if that's how your hair naturally wants to be, then it's really not an active, agential thing, i.e. appropriation. If people read you that way, then that's an issue of their reading surfaces and deriving presumptions from them. Your hair isn't thinking to itself, oh man, let's be edgy and EXOTIC. Let's WEAR OUR ALLYSHIP TO OUR POOR BLACK BROTHAS AND SISTAS, etc. It's just being! At least, that's my take on it?
