So, I really like Tamika Flynn. I really identify with her in some ways - I grew up in libraries, and when I was 13 I did think I could change the world with stuff I read in books, I did move people around me and made a little bit of impact with stuff I read, I did feel it was my responsibility to fix the world around me and I went for it, to the best of my understanding and ability... And my parents probably would have allowed me to go train in the desert or whatever. I imagine Tamika is a bit like the Winchesters, and like me too, in the sense of having this huge responsibility when you're a kid, and shouldn't have that on you. Of course, both Tamika and Dean and Sam are fantastically better at it than I, and less adherent to rules. And this is a cool fantasy, but it's also a fantasy by people who might like kids to be able to shoulder that. I am, also, really really tired of 'women who kick ass'. And I'm worried about the whole - yet another women who kicks ass who is also an angry black woman and a cute girl who's a badass - all of those maybe not socially helpful at this moment. And I don't like that her characterization is focusing more and more on her badassery, she's becoming less. Then again IDK, I am truly ignorant about this, though I try not to be, and would appreciate links/information/discussion if anyone feels inclined to do me the favor of educating me.

Regardless, I like her a lot, hope the show develops her as a character much more, and - here is some awesome art. All linked back to where I found it. Go give love to the amazing artists.

And a last one of Intern Dana by Coldcigarettes - I love that she can be such a badass and also love cat videos and giggle with Cecil and be so sweet and sensitive. Wonder what's coming.
