Oh!!! What if Dean doesn't want to go back with Sam, doesn't want to be cured, cause he believes that would put Sam back at the end of the trials? that if he cures a demon - he dies?
Even if that's not true, Crowley could convince him of that, it wouldn't be worth the risk for Dean! And if it is tre it could explain Crowley taking him away from Sam, Crowley wouldn't want to be shut down.

ETA: the first two trials hit Sam after he "claimed them" - the third - according to the last scene - would hit once the demon was cured.

It would put Sam in the place to make the choice he made 823 again .
Perhaps this time healing could be consensual, with Hanna? Is she the 'sort of angel' who could heal this or the sort who couldn't, like Cas? (never really got why Gadreel could and Cas could not)

Also, BTW, if they just need a little of Castiel's grace, and healing a human leaves some grace in them, and Cas has healed both Winchesters a lot... needle-kink time again ?

Ooh. That *something* that Crowley told Dean that we the viewers weren't told? Maybe that was it? "Just so you know, Dean, if your brother does try to cure you with his blood, it'll come across as him finishing the trials and he'll die." Intriguing possibility. But then...would he be so calm now that Sam captured Dean? Or would he be in a panic about the gates to Hell getting closed? What else could he have up his sleeve?

Eaxctly! And as for Crowley being calmer than that - you're right - it might mean he has something up his sleeve (or just trusts that Dean would never ever allow this to happen), or that it is, indeed, just a devious lie!

Or, actually, maybe he wants hell closed. Doesn't enjoy the company of demons very much.

Oh wow. Yeah, I definitely wonder if that would count as finishing the trials. Ezekiel and Castiel healing Sam not-withstanding, it was never stated whether or not Sam got released from completing the trials just because he got angel-cured.

IDK! His 'biting Sam to death' comment sounded like serious overkill, it made no sense - he'd just killed that guy, he wouldn't have that urge. The whole evil demon posturing towards Sam is not convincing me. So like Dean with his self worth issues and endlessly testing Sam to find out if this time he'd leave Dean - I am not convinced. I mean - sure, he's something - but not the way he's claiming to be, IMO. Maybe I'm wrong .
