One thing about 10x22

This was so so violent and horrifyingly graphic -
did somebody tell Carver he was getting soft, or asked if he'd seen a boob in the wild?
Did somebody pry his eyelids open and make him watch GoT to cure him of his bad writing urges?
Did he experience a moment of true happiness, triggering an ancient curse?
WTF happened?!
I probably need about a month, now, of watching My Little Pony 3-4 hours a day, omg
Also -Couldn't they just please get rid of the bunker already? SO CLOSE!
ETA:
-Like a fish that wants to fly or a dog that thinks it's people!
-Sam likes dogs.
ETA: Seriously - this is as violent and cruel as the show has ever been, even just that whole scene of Charlie's body graphically burning - WTF?! Why?!

Date: 2015-05-15 04:34 pm (UTC)I'm kind of surprised this episode struck you as disproportionately graphic--I thought it was pretty standard for the level of violence on the show. I found the condition of Charlie's body last week more gratuitous and shock-for-shock's sake than anything here. (Then again it wouldn't have occurred to me that Charlie's funeral was intended for shock value--as a petty fan girl I just found myself wishing the show had devoted that much time to Kevin's funeral.)
The one thing that stood out to me was the vivisection, but even that struck me as within the bounds of gore they do at least once or twice a season. The cold open to "My Bloody Valentine" sticks in my head as one of the goriest things I've seen on network television outside of Hannibal. SPN is a horror show, so there's a chunk of the audience for whom violence/gore is fan service, just as much as the obligatory BM scene at the end of an episode.
Sorry it was an upsetting watch for you, though! Hopefully next week will be better--I'm guessing we may be done with the medical horror, at least, now that the Stynes are dead.

Also, those idjits need to stop showing off their super secret, incredibly valuable home base to villains
YES!
And they need a second handcuff!
The place is so magically well stocked but they only had the one? It was weird from the start of that scene - did *someone* with super strength break so many they ran out, or....?
Petty fans are the reason Show's still on!

Date: 2015-05-15 05:25 pm (UTC)I am NOT a fan of gore- can't take it - but this was more personal than gore. The scene Balder mentioned did bother me some (the ones at the morgue are worst) - but those are sometimes just monster-campy-horror genre, and not to be taken that seriously? This episode was brutal (for me).
Kevin did have a funeral, IINM, though a much shorter scene?
