The new episode

Mostly I did! Was nice! I liked that they came back from hiatus with 19 minutes of the two main characters having zero lines. Skills.

Liked the different reactions from the boys, getting their food.

Liked the fic potential - first time seeing, touching, hearing - each other, sunlight, moving air. humans, the world.

Liked that the obvious and gross plot in which Mary kills herself did NOT HAPPEN.


Liked Cas' protectiveness in the end, I could identify with his - what I perceived as - loneliness, desperation, and just this notion of "this tiny little piece of the world, I'm gonna do what it takes to protect it, come hell or high water, last stand".

Could have done with less heavy handed writing - and aww, it is so so bad to lose Billie.... I adored her, such missed potential!

Liked the bit of exploration of class/hierarchy
been wanting more of that (in general, and re MoL - ) since Henry.

For almost as long as he's been on the show, Cas's first priority has been the Winchesters. Even when he appeared to be betraying them, ultimately it was FOR them. His part at the end of this episode just about made me cry. <3 <3 <3 Love how much he loves the boys.

Totally agree that I'm SO glad they didn't take the obvious, awful route of killing off Mary in that way.

Sad to be losing Billie, though. :/

Betraying them was about them? I'm still confused about that season....!!

Billie.... you deserved so so much better, and Show - we as an audience deserve better!

That never did tap into her backstory, didn't even let her be more than a random threat -

she was SO AMAZING and interesting! WHY

This show just really doesn't have a great track record with great female characters. :/ They know how to create them, but then not how to develop them and continue to use them. :/

I was so afraid they were going to kill Jody off earlier this season, so very relieved that they didn't.

And yeah... Cas didn't want Sam's sacrifice to be in vain, or Dean to get pulled back into the Apocalypse which Raphael wanted to start up again... he almost told Dean what was going on and asked for help, but decided not to because Dean was "retired" and settled with Lisa. He was trying to save everyone, was the original goal. :/
