I say it's time for a kink-based friending meme. People often travel across fandom and ship lines for a favorite kink. Talking about kinks is such a fun thing to do. Kinks can be so meaningful, deep, can be fun and simple, can bring so much joy. Why not friend based on that?

I hardly know anybody on LJ (though some of the people I know, I care a lot about).
So unless you spread the word, it's just gonna be me and my kinks. Which isn't that bad, actually. Tell everyone! Copy and paste the code in the box under one of the banners to your journal to spread the word. Below are some banners I made. If anybody feels like making better, more inclusive ones (more fandoms, more kinks, more sorts of people), that'd be cool, let me know and I'll add them to this post.

ETA: Hey, I'm having a thought. I'm really enjoying the conversations here. I feel like opening a kink discussion group. For fun discussion of stuff we like, are curious about, getting inspired by other people's kinks, just all sorts of that.
Perhaps open posting as well as having a specific topic or question to play with every week. Is anyone interested?

Other places you hang out (DW, Tumblr etc): I've technically got a tumblr account, but I've never done anything with it. I cross-post my fic to AO3.

Activity in fandom? I write fic, and occasionally meta, and obsessively discuss Suprnatural with my LJ friends.

Fandoms, if any: The only fandom I'm active in on LJ right now is Supernatural--I tend to be fandom monogamous that way. But I'm also a fan of way too many other things to list here, including: Babylon Five, Battlestar Galactica, Oz, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Luther, Hannibal, Homicide, The X-Files, Twin Peaks, The Wire, Justified, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Orphan Black, Game of Thrones, and the entire Whedonverse. Bookwise: Douglas Adams, Kurt Vonnegut, Joseph Heller, Ursula K. LeGuin, Margaret Atwood, Jeannette Winterson, Graham Greene, Charles Dickens, Medieval/Renaissance lit in general.

Ships/gen: In Spn I'm a huge multishipper--Dean/Cas, Sam/Cas, Sam/Dean, Sam/Dean/Cas, Sam/Ruby, Dean/Alastair, and Sam/Kevin (sort of?); outside of SPN some of my favorites are: Beecher/Keller (Oz), Delenn/Lennier (Babylon 5), and Alice/Luther (Luther--but it's mostly a platonic ship)

General interests: There are interests outside of fandom? I'm a nerd about history in general and European Medieval/Renaissance history in particular. And I love discussing politics, religion, and sexuality.

Some favorite kinks: knifeplay, profound trust, bondage, consentacles, praise, aftercare, hair pulling (especially Sam's), shotgunning, Stockholm Syndrome, edge play, gun play, sexual obsession, struggling to stay quiet, oral fixation, especially when mixed with hand porn/finger sucking, D/s and BDSM where the participants are equal outside the bedroom, characters negotiating scenes, Gray-asexuality, someone being ashamed of a kink and then reassured.

Non-sexual kinks: I'm a hurt/comfort fiend. The more extreme the better. I love cuddling fic too.

Kink-related LJ activity you like (discussion, reading, writing, drawing, recording etc.): At least some of my fic reflects my kinks, and I always love discussing them.

Guilty (or prideful) pleasure: SPN kink meme; anything with emo vampires

What's usually on your journal? Mostly fic, along with a few SPN episode discussions or other meta, and occasional whining about a WIP.

What do you look for in an LJ friend? Someone to have a good discussion with.

Ooh, Douglas Adams, X-Files (cause Krycek needs to be handcuffed and made to moan), and I used to love Oz (the clever manipulation, the unexpected love, Meloni's over the top cheeky manly flirtiness - was never into guys like that before him).

And another Oz fan! The manipulative, dark, obsessive love affair between Beecher and Keller really pushed my buttons, and Meloni was great. I'm kind of sorry he got stranded on SVU for the past decade--I feel like he's capable of so much more. You know, Oz was such a big fandom when I was super into it in high school, and now it's all but forgotten. I'll be so sad when SPN meets the same fate.

YES! I kinda try to be happy for him that he has a job and gets to act and all that - but that role is so boring compared to what he can do, pity he's not doing better things. Like the HBO incest-is-canon Supernatural I read a bunch of fic about.
