A few things about 903
Becoming human turns you into a heterosexual.
We know that some angels are sexual. Or, at least, Balthazar was. So it's not that angels just aren't sexual. Cas (maybe) wasn't. So why now? Is it a different experience of sexuality, is angel and human sexuality different? Was it different for Balthazar, or was he never actually sexual but did (or didn't) have sex for other reasons? Has the change in Cas' life made sex something he'd need or want, made it worth it for some reason even if he hasn't changed?
Not Misha's first time rocking the homeless sex appeal, by the way.
I said it when Dean and Cas trusted Ezekiel based on a name and not on recognition, and I'm saying it still - whoever is in Sam is not Ezekiel.
I take it wardrobe's been struggling with how to dress Cas, now that he's coatless, and has been settling it the only way they all agree on - shirtless. I can live with that.
Dean lied. He does that. *Tips hat at everyone from last episode's discussion*.
Oh, dear. I though they were at Denton rather than Dayton. Two young, ordinary, healthy kids, leaving Denton that late October evening, to visit a Dr. Everett Scott, ex-tutor, and now friend to both..
That was badly written.
ETA: I gotta run, but hey, I was kidding about the heterosexuality... pansexual here *waves*, I wouldn't have said that seriously... But please do keep talking about Cas not being straight, cause of the happies...
ETA: Oh! Another thing! When Cas died, did he go to heaven? Is that, perhaps, a way in for the angels? Tear out their grace, then die, then kick Metatron's ass, get resurrected, put the grace back in?
And the switches between Sam and Zeke would have been creepier and more interesting, and more fic material, had they not gone with the blue light, had it only been Jared's acting there.

I have to say I'm not too amused by the whole woohoo I had sex comment by Cas later because he should have felt pity for poor April, right? The unwilling person trapped in the body that happened to have sex with him... - But why am I even surprised? The writers almost never cared about the perspective of the meat suits.
It doesn't really turn Cas into a heterosexual for me, though. She started kissing him, making out with him - and it was probably nice, no matter what Cas's orientation is. Maybe it was more him taking the comfort offered to him... it wasn't like he was lusting after her before that, after all. He looked at her with pretty much the same lost-puppy style that he wore when he looked the guys earlier in the episode ;-) I'm sure if a really nice guy would have offered the same kind of comfort that April offered him, he wouldn't have said no.

Another thing is the breasts. Show made a point of showing us Cas looking at another woman's breasts. I can make a case for it being all sorts of other twisty things, but Show was pretty clear about its intentions, IMO.
Re heterosexuality - as said, I was kidding. Wanting and having sex with a woman doesn't make someone heterosexual, or sexual. There are so many other reasons and identities - really doesn't.
As for the meat suit, everyone seems to be over that part, on the show...
I'm sure if a really nice guy would have offered the same kind of comfort that April offered him, he wouldn't have said no
Agreed.
BTW - so glad they didn't kill the guy he talked to, just for killing someone.
April, though - the moment she took him in (or perhaps the moment she was kind to him) it was clear she wasn't gonna survive the episode, pretty much for sure.

Ah yes, the breast thing. I completely forgot about that until someone mentioned it again. Thing is... I look at breasts, too. Does that make me lesbian? If it doesn't, then Cas looking at them doesn't make him a heterosexual man ;) (not arguing with you about it, arguing with the show and its intentions XD) - And he wasn't staring at April's breasts, that's what I meant. He didn't jump into the sex because he was horny and felt like he needed to feel her up etc.
Oh and the other homeless guys all seemed to like him. God I would have given a lot for him to get closer to a guy. I'm still so convinced he would only need one to make a move on him. Maybe he would even be curious about it now that he knows that sex in general is pleasant. Why not try it with a guy next?

Well, but this is a pretty narrow perception of heterosexuality.
I won't get into discussing it being s signifier, and included for a reason, cause I assume we both know this path.

I guess I'm mostly trying to make myself feel better by pushing my headcanon firmly against authorial intent, since I have an unhealthy tendency to get upset with most things related to Cas and sex. (I wish I was kidding)

I absolutely agree with you there. And like I said above, it also didn't sink any ships (contrary to what tumblr seems to believe... but I didn't stay long enough in crazy-land to confirm that it was a general believe or just that of some very vocal people) because I'm 100% sure that Cas would have reacted the same way had it been a very nice and gentle man.

Yes, this.

I can understand people thinking it was unkind of the show, towards shippers, was perhaps a way of negating ships, like shows sometimes do. Personally I don't read it that way, I believe they wanted to write about Cas having sex, couldn't do it with anyone who wasn't a woman, and that's all. They even did that stupid thing they think is fan service, and killed her right away.
But seriously? If a person slept with a woman, he can't be in live/attracted to/interested in sharing something with a guy?! Fandom, you know better than that!!!

This needs to be a fic, too.

I'm just blown away by how vulnerable Misha is playing human!Cas. Even between 9.01 and now, he seems to have lost of lot of his, self assurance/cockyness? Very well acted.
Even though there were some dumb writing glitches - visible reapers (or is that a thing for rogue reapers, they lose some of thier powers?), and them dragging Cas all the way back to the bunker before Ezekiel demanded Dean kick him out, I was happy to see the return, for the most part, of the smart!chesters. They very efficiently hunted Cas down and got tactical info on the enemy on the way. It was really cool to see the brothers working as a team. :) (except, y'know, the part where Dean gave up and begged for Zeke's help)
So, pretty good so far, I'm happy right now.

Heh, good point!
I didn't mind this and the reaper retcon as much, but the dialogue, the character depth, the flow... didn't so much work for me. But I don't appreciate most of the episodes written by this ep's writer's, so

Aww, you're right! Yay!
The scene in which they grabbed the reaper, I was thinking - ugh, they seriously haven't noticed yet? And not-believable dialogue and acting - hich breaks my heart a little- - and then yay, there was a reason for that!
But I didn't think as far as it being smart!chesters working together! <3 YAY!

I'm really glad you liked the ep, yay you, too!
I liked parts of it as well.
