OMG, so many things happened to catch up about, *so* many.

But first, the new episode. The main thing I wanted to say about the first half was ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
In fact, I did say that, pretty loudly :)

I liked that ep.

The books, OMG! Richard! Writing advice from people whose writing is so often so bad it makes fandom cry and leak!
I loved it, really I did.

The tender empathy is Sam's voice when he found Dean on the floor and not making a whole lot of sense. Haven't heard such tenderness from him in years, it feels like. Like back in the days Dean was broken and drinking, in season five, maybe...
(also, behold the return of Hurt!Chibi!Dean!)

And Cas getting emotional about Dean not taking care of himself - there was a touching Cas/Sam moment, Cas/Dean moment, and Sam/Dean moment, all very close together. Ship please, cause it has depth, not just hotness.

Oh, and speaking of beauty, oh, Dean... Jensen - how is he so pretty. That shower scene must have been there for the pretties, and honestly I was kind of getting worried they only thought Cas and Sam were hot, and Jensen was not appreciated and might not get other jobs... I feel like as a fan I'm supposed to be saying "he's so hawt" cause that's what networks get, rather than "I love this character and this actor, and the writing, I want more please"... perhaps that was silly. Also, for some reason, when the boys are being gorgeous, I tend to think of them as J2 rather than Dean and Sam. And not even J2 that I know and love, some far away people who are actors. More relevantly -

This ties in well with the discussion about Dean not owning his body for most of his life, always belonging to other forces, and being marked by them in all sorts of ways. If so - and I feel that it is so - being marked again would be... something to discover and work through feelings about. For pretty much the first time, for about a year now, Dean has owned his own body and his own house (sort of), his own room. Not owning himself all over again must take him back, in a bad way. Perhaps it's comforting, he knows how to be that way. Perhaps it's punishment for himself for taking Sam's agency away, or even for enjoying his new status and getting comfortable.

The ending was kinda flat, for me, though.
If Chuck was Kripke and Metatron is the current writing team, and the show is saying "we may not be him, but we're still here to make sense of this mess and tell you a satisfying story" - it didn't exactly do that.

Oh no, I'm sorry! I was probably really unclear. Sorry!
And LOL for your icon!
"They" being the network. I was getting worried they didn't consider Jensen eyecandy anymore, or whatever it takes for them to give people jobs.
Cause they were mostly objectifying Sam and Cas.
And even Dean's sex scene was so very clothed.
But that might also have to do with Jensen - I'm not sure he's comfortable without the four layers of clothing there.
